RAISED BED AND CONTAINER WEEKLY DIARY
WEEK 3 IN JUNE
Article by David Marks.
A THOUGHT
We recommend many times in this raised bed diary that you sow seeds in spaces left after harvest. A good idea but you can go one step further to get the most from the limited space in a raised bed. A week or two before harvesting sow seeds in pots and bring them on in a sunny place. Then, when you harvest a vegetable, transplant the pot grown seedling into the vacant space. It works a treat for carrots, beetroot and many other vegetables.
HARVEST SUMMER RADISH
Harvest summer radishes, see our main radish article by

FERTILISE RASPBERRY PLANTS
For the second time this year apply a long-lasting fertiliser (bonemeal or blood fish and bone) to the surface of the container soil, a handful should be enough. Work it into the top surface of the soil with a trowel being careful not to disturb the shallow roots. See our main raspberry page for more details.
