JAPANESE MAPLE DESHOJO
Article and pictures by David Marks. This is a superb Japanese Maple at any time of the year but its main claim fame is the spectacular spring colour. The picture on the right / below was taken in mid April and fully illustrates how beautiful this Japanese Maple is in spring. Click the picture to enlarge it and see the colour and form more clearly. The colour has made ‘Deshojo’ a firm favourite with Bonsai tree enthusiasts but we also recommend it for the medium sized garden. |
To fully develop the spring colour, and the scarlet colour achieved in autumn, ‘Deshojo’ needs a position in full sun which is protected from harsh winds.
