QUESTION: I have a few of the larger potentillas yellow 4-5ft that I planted 5-7 yearsago.
I’ve successfully divided the plant but some look really scruffy. What’s the best way of getting rid of the twiggy bits
to stimulate the green young shoots? Is it safe to cut to a foot off the ground in September?ANSWER: That would be fine. However, if they are unlikely to flower much this year,I would prune them back now and give them a head start for next year. |
